(1) Deep-water cage aquaculture expands the aquaculture sea area. The aquaculture sea area is usually at a water depth of 15-40m, and some cage culture areas can be at a depth of 40-100m, far away from coastal pollution areas. A good breeding environment is an important foundation for the high quality of farmed fish.
(2) Due to the stable environment and large water body in deep-water cages, which are close to the natural state, and the fish have a wide range of activities, the cultured fish have good shape and meat quality close to wild fish. The meat quality and taste of large yellow croaker cultured in deep-water cages are significantly better than those of traditional cage cultured large yellow croaker, and the umami amino acids (ie aspartic acid and glutamic acid) of its muscles are 14.82% higher, which is comparable to wild large yellow croaker.
(3) The deep-water cages have a large aquaculture capacity and are equipped with automatic bait feeding, automatic grading and harvesting, automatic counting of fry, automatic collection of dead fish and other automation facilities. The operation automation level is high, which is conducive to standardized management.
(4) The one-time investment is quite high. The domestic HDPE floating circular cage sells for more than 100,000 yuan each, and the number of seed and compound feed required for breeding is also huge. Higher requirements are also put forward for the feeding and management of the breeding process, such as the cleaning and replacement of nets, and the prevention and control of diseases.
