How To Repair Fishing Nets
Jul 18, 2018

To improve the storage of nets and the repair of nets, we should first understand the physical and chemical properties of fishnet materials. For example, nylon, nylon, polyester, ethylene, polypropylene, chlorin, and vinyl chloride are some of the low by chemical synthesis. The molecular weight compound is polymerized into a polymer compound, which is then melted, spun, and drawn to obtain a synthetic fiber having good physical and mechanical properties. The fish net made of these synthetic fibers has the characteristics of small specific gravity, fast water filtration, high strength, light weight of the net, etc., but the synthetic fiber has the disadvantage of poor sunlight resistance. If exposed to sunlight for a long period of time, the fiber strength will be reduced accordingly. According to the test, after 625 hours of sun exposure, the strength of the polyester fiber decreased by 20%. After 900 hours of sun exposure, the strength of the nylon thread decreased by more than 40%. Such as cotton, hemp, brown and other plant fiber fishing nets have the disadvantages of low strength, large water absorption and perishable. Therefore, the correct storage method should be adopted according to the characteristics of various nets.

Before the fishnet is stored, the sludge and greasy residue on the fishing net should be washed, then dried, and the sinker should be removed and stored separately to prevent the iron sinker from rusting and damage the net.

The storage place should maintain air circulation and no direct sunlight. For a small number of small and small fishing nets, it can be tied and suspended on the roof beam. For a large number of large-sized fishing nets, it can be stored in high ground and well ventilated conditions. In the warehouse. Fishing nets should not be placed directly on the ground. They should be bundled on wooden frames that are 0.5 meters above the ground or placed in large wooden boxes. However, the net dyed by tung oil should not be bundled, and should be scattered on a higher grid to prevent heat and spontaneous combustion.

The storage period should be checked. When the weather is fine and the air is dry, open the door of the library door to make the air circulate; in the case of rainy days or high air humidity, the warehouse should be closed tightly. Every rainy season or hot summer season, pay special attention to the mold and mold of plant fiber, which should be regularly dried in the sun. Fish nets should not be mixed with volatile or corrosive materials such as fertilizers, pesticides and diesel. At the same time pay attention to insecticide and rodent control work.

Damaged mesh clothing should be repaired in time during storage or during fishing. There are two methods of repairing, namely, the editing method and the inlay method. The editing method is the main method for repairing the net. The compilation is based on the three feet above the hole (three feet and the nodule are connected to the three feet), and the meshes that are missing from the mesh are missing in succession, and the three feet below the hole are terminated. Before repairing, the holes should be trimmed so that the top and bottom of the hole have a three-legged one, and the rest are straight-lined (side) and horizontal (blinking)-like, also called single-line editing, without trimming. It is called the heavy line editing method.

The inlay method is to trim the hole into a square or a rectangle, and cut a piece of the same size as the original net. It is embedded in the net with a length smaller than the hole and a wide side, and the four sides and the hole are formed by the weaving method. The edges are stitched together. In the case of a large hole, it takes a lot of time to use the editing method. Generally, the inlay method can be used.
