Fishhook (fishhook) is a tool used to hang bait to attract fish to hook during fishing. Nowadays, the development of fish hooks is very fast. There are many types, including stainless steel, alloy steel with carbon materials, and there are many large and small classifications.
Fishhook (fishhook), a fishhook is composed of six parts: handle, hook handle, hook bend, hook tip, hook door, and hook bottom. Each part has its own specific function and is an indispensable tool for fishing. The perfect combination of fishing tackle is a weapon to help you become a master angler, and the hook is a key part of it.
A perfect hook should have four characteristics: strong, sharp, tough, and light.
Please as below:
1. Strong
The strong, refers to the high tensile strength of the fish hook, which is not easy to be straightened. It also refers to the advantage that the hook handle is not easy to fall off after tying. For example, the unique groove design with rich soil and fertilizer is a good example.
2. Sharp
The sharpness means that the hook tip is sharp and the puncture is good.
3. Tough
The toughness means that the hook has a certain degree of flexibility, which has a requirement for the carbon content of the steel used for the hook. If the carbon content is too high, the hook is brittle and will break if it encounters a twisting force; on the contrary, if the carbon content is too low, the hook's tensile strength will decrease and it will be easy to be straightened. Therefore, the hook requires a strict toughness test. Fixed hook handle, rotating hook tip, hooks that break at an angle of 90-135 degrees, the toughness is the most suitable.
4. Light
The light refers to the light weight of the hook. Freshwater fish eat mostly by inhalation. The lighter the hook weight, the better its ability to be inhaled and the higher the fish rate. This requires the use of thinner and lighter hooks.
It is quite difficult for the fishhook to have the above four characteristics at the same time. Using large-diameter, high-carbon steel fish hooks will sacrifice toughness and inhalation; while using small-sized, small-diameter, medium-carbon steel fish hooks, the hook’s tensile strength is slightly insufficient. Therefore, it is necessary to choose fish hooks of different sizes and hook types according to factors such as the size of the target fish, the feeding method, and the bait used to maximize the performance of the hook.
There are many types of fish hooks, and the models are complicated. Different types of hooks have different functions. The fish hook with the tip tilted inwardly allows the fish to swallow the entrance more smoothly; and as long as the fish is swallowed by the mouth, the hook will immediately pierce the fish body after a slight reaction activity. Generally, the thorn hang is relatively firm.
The hook tip type hook is suitable for catching ferocious fish and has strong lethality.
A hook with a short tip is easy to pierce the body of the fish. A hook with a long tip generally does not pierce the fish too deeply, and it is also prone to breakage of the hook tip.
If you want to catch sensitive fish, you should use the "crooked hook" in which the hook tip and the hook axis are not on the same plane. When you want to catch gluttonous fish, you should use a hook with a longer handle. This kind of hook penetrates deep into the fish body and makes the hook firmly; second, because the swallowing hook is deeper, it is more convenient to choose a long hook. In fixed longline fishing, generally you should choose a hook with the tip of the hook tilted inward and the hook door is narrower, so that the thorn can be hung firmly and the catch rate is high. Use a short hook when fishing with pasta, and use a long hook when fishing with earthworms and sand silkworms. Under normal circumstances, more short-hand hooks should be used. This is because it is easy to use bait to conceal the camouflage and prevent fish from recognizing the hooks, so as to increase the hook catch rate.
