According to different water conditions, breeding objects and types of cages, there are currently three methods for cage installations in our country (China):
(1) Floating Fishing Cage
The upper frame of the box body is tied to a frame made of bamboo, etc. The lower frame of the net is tied to a sinker. The two ends of the frame are tied together with ropes and anchors. The upper mouth is sealed with a net, and the frame is tied. Go up the float and floating on the water.
The floating cage has simple structure, less materials, strong wind resistance, and can float freely with water level, wind direction and current. It is generally set on the water surface where the water surface is open, the water level is unstable, and there are few ships passing by.
Floating cages have single-box floating type and multi-box floating type. Single box type is a single box body set up a place, fixed with a single anchor or double anchors. The water exchange is good, which is convenient for turning and cleaning the cages, but the wind resistance is poor. The multi-cabinet floating type is to connect 3-5 cages in series in a row, and the two ends are fixed with anchors. The distance between each row of cages should be farther than 50 meters. This method occupies at less water surface and it is relatively centralized in management. It is suitable for large-scale development, but the production effect is not as good as the single-box floating type.
(2) Fixed Fishing Cage
Generally, fixed fishing cage is at opening net, which is connected by piles and cross bars to form a frame. The fishing cages are suspended on the frame. No floats are installed on the upper frame. The upper and lower corners of the fishing cage are connected to the upper and lower iron rings or pulleys of the piles to facilitate the adjustment of the fishing cage. Lifting and washing boxes, fishing, etc. The net body is 0.7-1 meters above the water surface, and the net body is 1.5-2.5 meters underwater. Generally, the box body cannot rise and fall with the rise and fall of the water level. This method is only suitable for shallow lakes and flat reservoirs with small water level fluctuations. The advantages are low cost, convenient operation, easy management, strong wind resistance, but the disadvantages are that it cannot be migrated and is difficult to set up in deep water. Moreover, the habitat environment of fish in the cage changes frequently with the change of water level. If you do not pay attention to timely adjustment, it will affect the breeding effect.
(3) Sunken Fishing Cage
The entire fishing cage was sunk to a predetermined depth underwater. The body is not affected by changes in water level, the net attachments are less, and it is less affected by wind, waves and currents. It is suitable for fish culture in sea cages and places with strong wind and waves. In northern of China, it is often used as winter fish species for overwintering. The disadvantage is that it is inconvenient to operate, and the growth rate and production level of the fish school are low.
