There were no major aquatic product quality and safety incidents throughout the year, and the qualified rate of sampling inspection of aquatic products in the production area reached 99.6%.

The conservation of fishery resources has reached a new level. Up to now, 233 marine pastures have been built nationwide, with 60.94 million empty cubes for reefs, 194,000 tons of nitrogen fixation, 17,000 tons of nitrogen reduction, and 1,690 tons of phosphorus reduction. The ecological benefits are obvious. More than 200 aquatic biological nature reserves have been demarcated, and 535 aquatic germplasm resources conservation areas have been protected. The ecological environment and aquatic living resources of important fishery waters have been protected, and more than 200 billion units of various types of seedlings have been proliferated and released. The Yellow River banned fishing period and juvenile fish ratio system were introduced to further optimize the marine summer fishing season and the Yangtze River ban fishing system, and establish a stricter fishery resource protection system. Organize the implementation of the protection activities of key species such as Chinese white dolphins, Chinese sturgeon, Yangtze finless porpoise and sea turtles, and organize aquatic wildlife conservation and publicity activities. The cleanup and rectification of illegal fishing gear and fishing-related “three-no” ships persisted.
