Polyethylene (PE) is a thermoplastic resin obtained by polymerizing ethylene. Industrially, copolymers of ethylene and a small amount of an α-olefin are also included. Polyethylene is odorless, non-toxic, feels like wax, has excellent low temperature resistance (minimum use temperature can reach -100~-70 °C), good chemical stability, and can resist most acid and alkali corrosion (not resistant to oxidation) Nature of acid). Low-density polyethylene (LOW DENSITY POLYETHYLENE, LDPE) is commonly known as high-pressure polyethylene. Due to its low density and softest material, it is mainly used in plastic bags and agricultural films. 



High-density polyethylene (HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE, HDPE) is commonly known as low-pressure polyethylene. Compared with LDPE and LLDPE, it has high temperature resistance, oil resistance, vapor permeability and environmental stress crack resistance. LINEAR LOW DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (LLDPE) is a copolymer of ethylene and a small amount of higher-olefin polymerized in the presence of a catalyst. The appearance of LLDPE is similar to that of LDPE, and the transparency is poor. However, the surface gloss is good, and it has the advantages of low temperature toughness, high modulus, bending resistance and stress crack resistance, and good impact strength at low temperature.



LLDPE applications have penetrated almost all LDPE markets. At this stage, LLDPE and HDPE are in the growth stage of the life cycle; LDPE gradually entered the mature stage of development in the 1980s, and few LDPE equipments have been put into production in the world. Polyethylene can be formed by extrusion, injection, molding, blow molding and melt spinning. It is widely used in industry, agriculture, packaging and daily industry. It is widely used in China. Thin film is its largest user and consumes low density. 77% of polyethylene and 18% of high-density polyethylene. In addition, injection molding products, wire and cable, hollow products, etc. all occupy a large proportion in their consumption structure, and occupy a pivotal position in the plastics industry.
